Fire & Story Projection

This motion design piece was projection mapped for Paper Whale's Fire & Story event in Bellingham, Washington. Looking to reflect folk imagery and solstice messages, this piece tells a story of bringing light into the dark winter days. This animation was a large collaborative group project. I enjoyed learning to create longer stories and compositions that maintain cohesion. Thank you to Royce Alton, Lauren Brown, and Misha Mathias.

My contributions for this project included, styleframes, motion design, frame by frame. animation, compositing, and finishing effects.
Frame by Frame
For this piece I was in charge of creating flame animations for all the shots. I created the frame by frame animations in Procreate, and finished them in after effects. I enjoyed using some more traditional animation techniques, and learning how a fire acts
